Argentinean foreign minister makes a deal with Tehran to close the file on an explosion in Buenos Aires.

The Argentinean foreign minister Hector Timerman has agreed with his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Saleh to convene a meeting in Geneva at the end of next October to discuss ways to create a solution resolving Irans alleged involvement in an attack against a Jewish youth center in Buenos Aires in 1994 in which 85 people died.

The proposed meeting Geneva is the latest occurrence in a series of diplomatic initiatives which were undertaken by Timerman with the support of Argentinean President Christina Fernandez de Kirchner aiming for negotiation with Iran rather than confrontation.

In January this year, Timerman secretly visited Aleppo in Syria with the aim of securing Syria help in facilitating negotiations with Tehran on this matter. Timerman raised the case with President Bashar al-Asad. According to information, a high-level Iranian Ministry of Intelligence official attended the meeting.
